Rare pair of brass Shabbat candlesticks, Warsaw, Poland, 1908.

These matching Shabbat candlesticks, impressed with lions and Star of David, are the result of assembly-line production that was abundant in Warsaw during the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries. To meet the demand of the Jewish population in Warsaw during this period, factories such as Fraget, Henneberg, and Norblin began manufacturing all kind of Jewish ceremonial objects that were affordable to the masses. While thousands of these Judaic- themed candlesticks were made during that time, finding a pair for sale today is not easy.
