Rome, Italy, circa 1710-1720. Extremely rare, highly important large silver Hanukkah lamp. Parcel gilt, repousse, chased, engraved, Punched, soldered, nailed and cast. One of the rarest Hanukkah lamps in the world. The hanukah lamp is decorated with gilt Hanukah lamp at the center, bordered by two olive trees each side. The upper section is decorated with a an oil fountain in a shape of see shell. The Bottom section is decorated with alter, and chased with gilded Hebrew: “HOLY TO YHR LORD” All the oil holders are hammered into a “spoon” shape and nailed into cast silver arms.
