Early pair of brass Sabbath candlesticks Hand-turned, of very heavy construction, each resting on four peg feet. Russia, circa 1700. For the Jews located in the large swath of territory known as the “Pale of the Settlement”, candlesticks such as these were heirlooms, passed down from mother to daughter or daughter-in-law.
