Tin charity box, England, circa 1940. Collecting funds for the Board of Guardians for the Relief of the Jewish Poor of Liverpool. Decorated with the Israel flag in the front, and with two Stars of David both sides, along with Hebrew and English text: "HAPPY IS THAT CONSIDERTH THE POOR". Inscribed on the front and on the back in English: "PLEASE HELP- BOARD OF GUARDIANS FOR THE RELIEF OF THE JEWISH POOR OF LIVERPOOL - YOUNG AND OLD LOOK FOR HELP to THE JEWISH BOARD OF GUARDIANS - A CONTRIBUTION FROM YOU MEANS HAPPINESS FOR THEM" and "THANK YOU" on the top.
