Charity (Zedaka) box of the "Gemilut Chesed" society. Budapest, circa 1900 Silver plated metal; etched brass plaque. Charity box for placing on a table or hanging on the wall, on the upper part is a brass plaque with an illustration of the Jewish orthodox hospital on Városmajor street, which was burnt down with its inhabitants by the Nazis during WW II. Above the illustration appears the inscription "Bpesti orth. Chevra" and "Gemilut Chesed" (Hebrew); under the illustration appears the inscription
