Rare low grade silver Torah Shield, Jerusalem, circa 1910
Cut and engraved, Shaped as a shield topped with a Torah Crown. On the right and on the left side appear engraved ornamentations of columns; on the capitals appear images of ribbons and heads of birds of prey, and on their lower part floral decorations, In the center of the shield the Ark of the Covenant, with Tablets of the Law placed on it, and a pair of angels depicted as birds with an engraved inscription: "Veshamartem et divrey HaTorah Hazot" and "Aron HaEdut". The Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock are engraved on the lower part of the shield. Chain for hanging. Provenance: Collection of Willy Lindwer.
